FIFTEEN COURSES TO TAKE
1. HIST 47H - Voices of the Italian Renaissance
This is a great seminar with about 15 people, and Professor Bullard is a true expert in the field.

2. BUSI 71 - Financial Accounting with Prof. C. J. Shaw
Required for all Business majors/minors, this class and professor are awesome.

3. ECON 10 - Introduction to Economics
It opens your mind to economics and actually allows you to read the Business section of the paper and make sense of it. Take the class, do the work, and you will expand your knowledge.

4. SPAN 54B - History of Latin America with Prof. Stuart Day
This is a great class for students interested in Spanish.

5. GERM 61/RELI 85 - Jews in German Culture with Prof. Jonathan Hess
This is an awesome course on German culture and the rise of anti-Semitism through the Holocaust.

6. ENGL 29W - Poetry with Prof. Michael McFee
Even if you don't consider yourself a poet, the class is in a workshop format in which you learn about poetry extensively.

7. HNRS 32
To some, the best course offered at Carolina. It's a six-course cycle taught by Prof. Larry Goldberg.

8. HIST 66 and 67 - North Carolina History
Two of the greatest courses Carolina offers. Learn about the history of this great state and the University. Highly recommended for out-of-staters.

9. ENGL 58 - Shakespeare
Formerly a requirement to graduate from Carolina, it provides valuable knowledge. No person can truly claim to be an intellectual without some knowledge of good ole Billy Shakespeare.

10. PHYS 16 - How Things Work with Prof. Rich Superfine
Ever wondered why balls fall, how a Xerox machine works, or how electricity is made? Prof. Superfine explains the physics behind everyday life in this great class.

11. AFAM/RELI/FOLK/ANTH 90 - African American Religious Experience with Prof. Ed Curtis
This course expands anyone's cultural knowledge and explores religion and African Americans from slavery to the present.

12. GEOG 006E - Local Places in a Globalizing World with Prof. Altha Cravey
Explores globalization through North Carolina's global perspectives. Allows freshmen to "get their feet wet" in research.

13. GEOL 18 - Earth and Climate
Those of us who are not scientifically inclined still have to complete the Natural Science perspective. This course is great as it covers the evolution of climate since the Earth's beginnings.

14. ENGL 28 - Major American Authors with Prof. Gena Diamant
You can not go wrong with reliving the great American classics. Check out Edith Wharton, Tennessee Williams, William Faulkner, and others in an approach that makes you feel like you are the author.

15. HIST 006K - Books
The course examines the role of books in people's lives in the presentation, layout, bindings, and organization. It discusses the ideas of books, but you don't really read that many.
