About FFC...

WHAT ARE THE MISSION AND GOALS OF FFC?

The freshman class at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is always in a unique position of entering the university with new perspectives, ones which may be lost as the students become acclimated to the current conventions of university life. Sometimes those conventions could be improved upon, but because students become used to them, they do not know how to change them. Being new to the UNC experience, freshman lack a cohesive conduit of communication, thus depriving the university of a valuable and unique resource.

Therefore, the mission of the Freshman Focus Council is to bring freshman issues to the Student Government and to bring campus issues to the freshman class.

This mission is reiterated throughout the dealings of the FFC, and all decisions go along with the mission.

The council works to accomplish specific goals in order to represent the class best. They are...

. To provide communication between the Student Government and the freshman class.

. To maintain contact with the freshman class.

. To keep the class informed of class-specific and campus wide events and information.

. To bring diverse freshman perspectives to the institution.

. To foster a sense of belonging to the UNC community among freshmen.
